Though Gisel could easily dismiss him as a fraud and send her away, he can’t help but be captivated by Rensley, who smiles brightly and chatters even for the smallest acts of kindness. Rensley, who came to Oldenlant after being rejected from the moment of her birth and all but abandoned, begins to develop affectionate feelings for Gisel as she sees his indifferent yet kind nature. But just as he becomes aware of his feelings, the moment of separation approaches...
